Community-Based Outpatient Clinic
The Arecibo Community Based Outpatient Clinic is a Satellite of the San Juan VA Medical Center, and was established in 1999 to improve access to Primary Care services for veterans in Arecibo and the surrounding municipalities. We currently provide a variety of services:

- Care of Chronic Conditions

- EKG
- Phlebotomy/Laboratory Testing
- Psychiatry
- TeleHealth
- Prescriptions: Prescriptions processed in our main facility, through the mail or My HealtheVet.
- Social Work
- Nutrition
- Tele-Retinal Screening
- Eligibility/Enrollment
- Means Test Clinic
- Fee Basis
- Release of Information
- Veterans Identification (VIC)
- VBA Representative (Contacto)
The Clinic also provides Podiatry, Nutrition and High Risk Foot Clinic services with visiting staff from the San Juan VA Medical Center. Services that are not available in the Community Based Clinic can be obtained via referral to local health care specialists or to the VA Medical Center in San Juan.
Please note that Community Based Clinics do not have emergency rooms, and are not the facilities of choice in case of life threatening emergencies. In such cases, it is advisable to contact 911 or a hospital based emergency room.
Driving Directions
The Arecibo VA Clinic is located within the Arecibo Hospital Metropolitano facility, just off Highway 129 close to the Arecibo Coliseum and just down the street from the Dept. of Transportation and Colecturía. The clinic entrance is adjacent to the hospital's emergency room.
