Pharmacy

About our Service

The VA Caribbean Healthcare System pharmacy processes over 1.8 million prescriptions annually. Many of these prescriptions are verifed by our pharmacist, filled and mailed by our the Central Mailout Pharmacy (CMOP) located in Charleston, SC. Prescriptions may be refilled by mail, phone or the Internet.

Automated Refill Phone Line

An IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system is available to all patients 24 hours 7 days a week. This service is fast and efficient.

  • 787-641-7582 ext. 74554 (San Juan area).
  • 1-800-449-8729 (from outside Metro area), option 2 for spanish,  option 1 for english, followed by option 3 for medications. 
  1. You will need to have your social security and prescription number(s) on hand.
  2. Once in the Automated Refill System use option 1 for medications, wait for the automated attendant to answer.
  3. Select the language: option 1 for spanish option 2 for english. 
  4. Press 2 for prescriptions, then.
  5. Press 1 for refills, then.
  6. Press 1, then wait for an answer.
  7. Enter the prescription number, then press the # key. Wait for an answer.
  8. To refill additional prescriptions, press 1 and repeat the process.

If you are using the automated refill line, all refills should be ordered at least ten days prior to when the refill is due to insure prompt processing and delivery time.

Mail Refill

You can also place your prescriptions by mail including the refill sheet or leaving it in one of two designated areas, located in the waiting area of the out-patient pharmacy service or at the main entrance. (brown mail box).

Internet Refill

Prescriptions may also be filled online using VA's My HealtheVet program. You will need a user id and password to log in. If you do not have one, you can easily get one by creating your personal profile.

Refills at VA Caribbean Healthcare System Pharmacy

All Veterans are encouraged to refill their prescriptions by phone mail or Internet. However if you decide to come, please refer to the outpatient pharmacy window to receive instructions on how to make your refill available.

Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and Holidays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  
Inpatient Pharmacy (inpatient hospitalized veterans only)
Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Ponce Outpatient Clinic (POPC), Mayaguez Outpatient Clinic (MOPC) and St Croix Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC)
