The New Parent Support Program (NPSP) is a professional team of social workers and nurses who provide educational and supportive services to military families.
Our trained, supervised staff has extensive knowledge of the issues encountered by today's parents. These home visitors are sensitive to the unique challenges facing military families.
The NPSP helps families cope with stress, isolation, pre and postdeployment, reunions, and the everyday demands of parenthood through a variety of programs.
This voluntary participation program was developed to assist families in many ways that friends and family often do when back at home. Marine and sister service families expecting a child, or with a child under six years of age, are eligible to participate free of charge in all of the services offered.
This program offers expectant parents and parents of newborn and young children the opportunity to learn new skills as parents and to improve old ones. There are often many questions about the needs of infants and young children. The NPSP is a reliable source for answers to your questions in the classroom or in the privacy of your home.
Even if you have been raising your family for a few years, new ages and stages bring different challenges. Often, addling a brother or sister to the family presents a real change in the family. The NPSP offers you the opportunity to express your concerns and ask questions about babies, young children, and family relationships.
To understand the ages and stages of your child's development in order to
make wise choices
To develop common ground with your spouse in the area of parenting
