Reemployment Assistance (also called reemployment assistance insurance) provides temporary wage replacement benefits to qualified individuals who are out of work through no fault of their own.

In order to qualify for benefits, you must:

  • Have lost your job through no fault of your own.
  • Be actively looking for a new job.
  • Be ready to take a new job when offered.
  • Meet wage requirements based on your previous job(s).

Note: You may not be able to complete a Florida Internet Claim application online, via the Florida Internet Claims Filing System utilizing certain portable electronic devices. This includes but is not limited to personal digital assistants (PDA’s), smart phones, cellular telephones, personal communications services (PCS) devices, multifunctional wireless devices, messaging devices, etc.

If you do not have internet access, public computers are available at your local One-Stop Career Center as well as local public libraries, community centers and colleges and universities (if you are a student). Reemployment Assistance claimants filing a new claim are required to complete the Initial Skills Review before receiving benefits and must prove that they are actively looking for work while receiving benefits.

Reemployment Assistance Fraud is a Third Degree Felony

Claimants who fail to meet their responsibilities by presenting false information or withholding information about earnings can be charged with reemployment assistance fraud, a third degree felony.
