Welcome to the Sierra Club Northern Rockies Chapter

Representing over 4,000 members in Idaho and eastern Washington.

Northern Rockies Chapter volunteers on a cooperative weed pulling trip with the Forest Service down the Main Salmon River in Idaho

Welcome to the Sierra Club in Idaho and eastern Washington. We love the clean water, fresh air, and wildlands of our state, and we're willing to work hard to protect the natural resources we cherish. Come join us as we enjoy, explore and protect the environment of the Northern Rockies.

Comment on the Clearwater National Forest Travel Plan!

Action needed by October 2, 2009

The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) is open for public comment through October 2, and the Sierra Club is urging it’s members to support a modified alternative D. This alternative best protects wilderness characteristics, traditional non-motorized recreation opportunities, and provides the highest level of elk security of the four alternatives.
