Council Designee: Katy Kale, Deputy Assistant to the President for Management and Administration

Katy Kale is Deputy Assistant to the President for Management and Administration, and the former Special Assistant to the President and Director of White House Operations. She also served as the Director of Operations for the Obama-Biden Transition Project.  Prior to her time in the Obama Administration, Ms. Kale spent close to 10 years in the United States Senate working on operational and legislative issues. Most recently, she served as the Administrative Director for Senator Sherrod Brown and previously held in the same position for Senator Bill Nelson.

Ms. Kale is a Massachusetts native and a graduate of George Mason University.

Council Designee: Beth Jones, Special Assistant to the President and Director, Office of Administration

Beth Jones is the Special Assistant to the President and Director, Office of Administration. OA’s mission is to provide effective, efficient, and economical business and administrative services to the Executive Office of the President. Before this role, she was the Director of White House Personnel where she and the M&A team worked to foster system innovations, connectivity and communication, and leadership and development. Ms. Jones graduated with distinction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earned her law degree from Vanderbilt University where she was an Associate Editor on the Law Review and placed first in the Moot Court Competition. After graduation, she clerked for a federal magistrate judge in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia and practiced law at two major metropolitan law firms. After four years in private practice, Ms. Jones entered the public sector, working for the Cook County Public Defender's Office in Chicago. In 2007, she joined Obama for America, working at national headquarters on delegate and ballot access issues and serving as an operations liaison to states during the primary and general elections.
