Program for Cooperative Cataloging

The Library of Congress > Cataloging, Acquisitions > PCC > Discussion Lists

The PCC and its constituent programs use several listserv or email message lists to communicate with member institutions, distribute PCC policy announcements, provide operational information (such as statistics and annual report deadlines), announce the availability of reports, comment periods and much more. Find out who is eligible to join each list and see instructions for joining.

PCC listserv

The PCC Listserv facilitates communication among PCC participants throughout the world. The listserv is a member-only vehicle to foster discussions on cooperative cataloging issues. Questions posted may be answered by any list member and not necessarily by staff from the Library of Congress. Participants are encouraged to provide comments, share examples, experiences, etc. LC Coop Programs Section subscribes the NACO contact from a new NACO institution to the PCClist at the time of training.

How to Subscribe: Send a message to the Cooperative Programs Section at the Library of Congress with the subject line: "Subscribe pcclist", and include your email address and name in the body of the message.

SACO listserv

The SACO Program welcomes all interested parties to subscribe to the SACO listserv. This listserv was established first and foremost to facilitate communication with SACO contributors throughout the world. The Summaries of the Weekly Subject Editorial Review Meeting are posted weekly to enable SACO contributors to keep abreast of changes and know if proposed headings have been approved or not. The listserv may also be used as a vehicle to foster discussions on the construction, use, and application of subject headings. Questions posted may be answered by any list member and not necessarily by staff in the Coop Section or the Policy and Standards Division (PSD). Furthermore, participants are encouraged to provide comments, share examples, experiences, etc.
