Lock Ridge Park and Furnace Museum

Franklin Street, Alburtis, Pa. Park area is 59.2 acres
Lock Ridge Park was opened in August 1976. The park includes the old Lock Ridge Iron Works complex and surrounding land.  Swabia Creek offers limited fishing. There is a picnic pavilion with fireplace and rest rooms. A path system is suitable for walking or bike riding. There is a little league baseball field.

Furnace Museum
Open Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., May thru September, Admission is free. Other hours by appointment with guide service. Call (610) 435-4664.

Lock Ridge Furnace Museum is a unique museum dedicated to the anthracite iron industry. Visitors may tour the rebuilt furnace room, the engine house, and cast house originally constructed by the Thomas Iron Company in 1868. Exhibits illustrate how iron was made over one hundred years ago. Numbered signs enable visitors to guide themselves on a walking tour of the site. The museum is administered by the Lehigh County Historical Society.
