The Permanency Planning Unit was designed to focus on implementing various permanency options for the children of Lehigh County. Our child welfare workers work together to achieve permanent connections for all children and youth. In 2007, the Permanency Planning Unit was divided into four specific units which gives caseworkers the ability to specialize in their specific area:
- Family Group Decision Making/ Family Finding
- Kinship Care/ Emergency Caregiver/ Interstate Compact Agreement for Children
- Termination of Parental Rights/ Permanency Planning
- Adoption/ Alternative Planned Permanent Living Arrangement/ Independent Living
