R. Gil Kerlikowske, Director
Mr. Kerlikowske was sworn in as the Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy on May 7, 2009. He brings nearly four decades of law enforcement and drug policy experience to the position, most recently serving  nine years as the Chief of Police for the Seattle Police Department. When he left, crime in Seattle was at its lowest point in 40 years. He previously served as deputy director for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services and president of the Major Cities Chiefs Association.  Read more about Director Kerlikowske

Component Deputy Directors

David K. Mineta, Deputy Director of Demand Reduction
As Deputy Director, Mr. Mineta oversees ONDCP's Office of Demand Reduction, which focuses on promoting drug prevention and drug treatment programs, as well as the Agency's newly created focus on programs for individuals in recovery from addiction. Mr. Mineta brings nearly 20 years of broad, nationally recognized experience in the design and delivery of effective demand reduction programs. Read more about Deputy Director Mineta

Benjamin B. Tucker, Deputy Director of State, Local, and Tribal Affairs
As Deputy Director, Mr. Tucker oversees ONDCP's High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas program (HIDTA), Drug-Free Communities (DFC), National Youth-Anti-Drug Media Campaign, and Counter-Drug Technology Assessment Center (CTAC). Mr. Tucker joined ONDCP with 40 years of experience in the fields of law enforcement and criminal justice, he is a recognized expert in community policing. Read more about Deputy Director Tucker

Marilyn A. Quagliotti, Deputy Director of Supply Reduction
Ms. Quagliotti was nominated by President Obama and confirmed on June 30th, 2011 by the U.S. Senate as the Deputy Director for Supply Reduction in the Office of National Drug Control Policy. Ms. Quagliotti provides executive leadership in the interagency and international environment to reduce the supply of illicit drugs in the United States. Her office develops and coordinates national policy and strategy of U.S. drug control programs and activities involved in achieving the supply reduction goals of the National Drug Control Strategy.
