Prescriptions


Pharmacy services at the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System include inpatient and outpatient prescription medications, mail-out prescription refills, and medication counseling.  More information about pharmacy prescriptions can be found on the "Frequently Asked Questions" website.

Location

Outpatient pharmacy is located on the ground floor of building 14 at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. A number is needed in order to be served. A number will flash and be announced in order to be counseled by a pharmacist and your prescription will be processed and transferred into the pharmacy dispensing area. Your name will appear on a monitor when your medicine is ready for pick up. (Photo identification is mandatory in order to pick up your medication.)

Prescription Refill Instructions

Order your medication refills at least two weeks before they are to run out. Refills are mailed to you and may take up to two weeks so, you must plan ahead.

You can reorder your medications by mailing in your refill slips online through the My Healthevet web site or ordering over the phone by calling (801) 584-2525 or toll free 1-(800) 579-0540.
