Ramstein grad Seebeck still making a difference

Former Stars and Stripes soccer player of the year Josie Seebeck, a 2012 Ramstein graduate, rebounded from two injuries she suffered during her freshman season at Central Michigan University to assist on the Chippewas’ first goal Sunday in a 2-0 victory over Northern Illinois in a Mid-American Conference tournament quarterfinal game in Mount Pleasant, Mich., according to the school’s website.

Seebeck, whom her father Peter emailed Monday was recovering from cracked ribs, played 40 minutes as a substitute and put her 72nd-minute crossing pass on the head of teammate Laura Gosse. Gosse headed the ball inside the far post for the game’s first score. Next up for the Chippewas is a Friday semifinal against Toledo at Oxford, Ohio. The MAC title game is scheduled for Oxford on Sunday.

Peter Seebeck provided a link to an interview with CMU coach Neil Stafford discussing his clutch freshman’s play. It’s available at   http://www.cmuchippewas.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?catid=48519&id=107663.
