As an important part of maintaining the environmental and public health of the community, the Solid Waste Division operates the
County landfills,
collects household refuse, manages the
metals and abandoned vehicle programs, and coordinates the
recycling and waste reduction programs.
The goal of the Division is to embody the three principles of
reducing waste by eliminating unnecessary packaging and limited-life products,
reusing viable resources and
recycling materials for re-manufacture while providing efficient and high quality services to the people of Maui County.
