Week 3 outlook
Friday
Japan
Robert D. Edgren at Yokota, 7 p.m.-Eagles, with scoring weapons Drew Holder, Johnell Alexander (270 yards, 2 touchdowns, 40 carries this season) and Jamal Dennis (108 yards, 2 touchdowns, 12 carries last week) come loaded for bear wanting to drop the hammer on Panthers’ 50-game regular-season winning streak. American School In Japan at Nile C. Kinnick, 7 p.m.-A piece of advice to Mustangs, making their season debut: Keep your eyes on No. 25 (Tyree Hunt, 323 all-purpose yards, 2 TDs last week) and No. 13 (Jon Bollinger, 10-for-19, 144 yards, 1 TD) at all times. This may be the best 0-2 team in the region. … Red Devils 21, Mustangs 14.
South Korea
Seoul American at Osan American, 6 p.m.-A warm welcome back for the Cougars’ Will Rapoza, the last holdover from Osan’s 2005 Class A title team. Guam
Simon Sanchez at John F. Kennedy, 7 p.m.-Wow! What a shocker the Sharks pulled last week on 2003-06 champion George Washington! Running backs Franklin Sojo and Anthony Cruz and QB Shane Aguon lend plenty of balance to a rejuvenated Shark attack. Could be coach Jimmy Naholowaa’s best team since the mid-1990s. … Sharks 22, Islanders 8.
Saturday
Guam
Father Duenas Memorial at Southern, 3 p.m.-Defending champion Friars are off to a flying start, thanks to the arm of Will Williams, who tossed two TD passes and caught a pass for another against JFK last week. Should be a long season for the Dolphins. … Friars 21,Dolphins 6.
George Washington vs. Guam High at Naval Station “Big Navy,” 7 p.m.-Are Panthers running back tandem D’Andre Weaver and Brian Sanders and QB Aaron Cosey really ready to conquer the Geckos for the first time in school history? A lot of pride left in Gecko country after their upset loss to Sanchez; this may be the last team the Panthers wish to face. … Geckos 20, Panthers 17.
