As Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Hon. Alejandro García Padilla is focused on implementing a public policy that re-establishes peace and security for all Puerto Rican families, and creates jobs by promoting private investment and entrepreneurialism. His resolve is guided by his ideal that a leader should be on the people’s side and fight for their rights and opportunity for a better future.
The Puerto Rican flag is the patriotic symbol of the “Island of Enchantment”. The star represents the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and lies on a blue triangle, which evokes the integrity in our form of government represented by the three angles, each for one of the powers: Legislative, executive and judicial. The three red stripes represent the vital blood that nourishes the three branches of government, which roles are independent and separate. Individual freedom and human rights, essential principles represented by the two white stripes, maintain the balance between the three powers.
Every day, the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration is fully dedicated to the task of efficiently representing and promoting the interests of the government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico before the federal, state and local governments.
