Kevin E. Williams, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Deputy Director, Studies and Analyses, Assessments and Lessons Learned, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. He is responsible for the development of Air Force-wide policy and guidance that ensures defendable studies, analyses, assessments, and lessons learned processes support Air Force leadership decisions to enhance current and future warfighting capabilities.
Mr. Williams received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University and was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force as a distinguished graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps. He began active duty in 1980 with undergraduate pilot training at Williams AFB, Ariz. As an operational fighter pilot in the A-10, F-16 and F-111, he had flying and command assignments in Iraq, England, South Korea and the United States.
His staff and joint assignments include Director of the U.S. Strategic Command Global Innovation and Strategy Center; Director of the Air Combat Command Commander's Action Group; Chief of the Information Operations Division at U.S. Northern Command; and National Defense Fellow in the Secretary of Defense Strategic Studies Group. He has also served as executive officer to the Commander in Chief of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Space Command, and to the Commander, Air Force Space Command. He has acquisition experience in key Air Force programs to include the F-15E, B-1B and B-2. He retired from the Air Force in 2005 and was appointed to the Senior Executive Service the same year.
