Driving Directions to NMLBS

There are two airports that service the National Motor Lifeboat School. Portland International Airport is the primary airport that is used. Sea-Tac Airport in Seattle is a secondary choice and much further in disatance.

If you are driving to the school in a POV, the maps below will assist you in getting on the major freeways and highways that lead to the school.

Portland to NMLBS

1. Start going towards the AIROPORT EXIT on NE AIROPORT WAY - 0.7 mi.
2. Bear LEFT on a local road - 0.1 mi.
3. Bear LEFT on NE AIROPORT WAY - 2.0 mi.
4. Turn LEFT to take I-205 NORTH - 12.3 mi.
5. Take the I-5 NORTH exit - 29.2 mi.
6. Take the WA-432 WEST / LONGVIEW (WA - 4) exit towards LONG BEACH, exit #36 - 0.1 mi.
7. Continue towards WA-432 WEST / LONGVIEW (WA - 4) / LONG BEACH - 0.2 mi.
8. Continue on TENNANT WAY - 3.5 mi.
9. Turn LEFT on OREGON WAY - 1.5 mi.
10. OREGON WAY becomes LEWIS AND CLARK BRG / OREGON WAY - 0.3 mi.
11. LEWIS AND CLARK BRG / OREGON WAY becomes LEWIS AND CLARK BRG - 0.6 mi.
12. Continue on ramp - 0.3 mi.
13. Continue on US-30 - 45.0 mi.
14. Continue on MARINE DR - 1.7 mi.
15. Continue on W MARINE DR - 0.6 mi.
16. Turn RIGHT on ASTORIA BRG - 4.2 mi.
17. ASTORIA BRG becomes US-101 - 9.9 mi.
18. Arrive in Ilwaco and follow the signs to the Coast Guard Base. This sign is located by the local market and bank.

Seattle to NMLBS

1. Start going towards the AIRPORT EXIT on PICK UP DR / RENTAL CAR RET / PARKING / BAG CLAIM - 0.1 mi.
2. Continue on PARKING / BAGGAGE CLAIM / PICK UP DR towards ARRIVING FLIGHTS / BAGGAGE CLAIM / EXPRESS METER.
3. Continue on SOUTH EXIT DR towards TACOMA - 0.1 mi.
4. Turn RIGHT on INTERNATIONAL BLVD - 1.2 mi.
5. Turn LEFT on S 200TH ST - 0.4 mi.
6. Take I-5 SOUTH towards PORTLAND - 46.7 mi.
7. Take the US-101 NORTH exit towards ABERDEEN / PORT ANGELES, exit #104 - 5.9 mi.
8. Continue on WA-8 WEST towards ABERDEEN / MONTESANO - 21.0 mi.
9. Continue on US-12 WEST - 10.0 mi.
10. Continue towards JCT WA-107 / MONTESANO / RAYMOND - 0.3 mi.
11. Turn LEFT on S MAIN ST - 0.1 mi.
12. Continue on WA-107 - 7.8 mi.
13. Turn LEFT on US-101 - 62.4 mi.
14. Arrive in Ilwaco and look for signs to the Coast Guard base near the local market and bank.
