Federal Urban Waters Resources

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)

The USACE has an Interagency and International Support program that provides technical assistance to non-Department of Defense (DoD) federal agencies, state and local governments, tribal nations, private U.S. firms, international organizations, and foreign governments.  There are several existing MOUs and MOAs with USEPA, DOI(NPS&FWS), USDA, and Commerce/EDA among others that provide for exchange of services under the economy act.  Depending on the scope of activities to be benefitted by the partnership, the following might present opportunities to collaboratively achieve early results (that likely would not have occurred absent the partnership).

Scope of activities:

Department of the Interior (DOI)

DOI WaterSMART:

The DOI.gov\WaterSMART web page focuses on sustainable water supplies and is one of DOI’s communication tools.  All government agencies – Federal, Tribal, State and local governments have been asked to post important links.

Information on the quality of urban waters can be accessed at the USGS "Urban Portal" public Web site.  Resources such as reports and video podcasts can be used for educational purposes by watershed organizations and others.
