Military, DoD and Federally Connected Parents We Need Your Help! Frederick County Public Schools IMPACT Aid Survey
As a federal and military impacted school system each year Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) surveys parents of students who live or work on Federal Property in the State of Maryland or are in active military service. The federal government provides school systems financial assistance for these pupils through the IMPAC Aid Act based upon the number of surveys returned to the schools. This federal funding is provided to school systems to offset the loss of local property tax on federal property that helps support education in the school system.
The survey will be mailed to homes on 24 October 2012 by FCPS. A self-addressed stamped envelope will be enclosed in the mailing for ease of return to FCPS by the November 12, 2012 in the self-addressed stamped envelope provided in the survey mailing.
Parents are asked to pay close attention to completing the form accurately by adhering to the following requirements:
- Active military personnel must provide the branch of service and rank on the survey document.
- Activated National Guard or Reservists must provide a copy of the orders and the orders must be presidential orders. If the order is a State order, please check the "no" box at the top of the survey form, fill in the child's name and return the form.
- Parent signature and the date survey was completed required
- Addresses of your work location and home are required
Military and federally connected parents support schools in so many ways and taking the time to complete the survey completely can make a difference in the amount of funds that is awarded to the school system.
