U.S. and Philippine Forces Wrap-up PHIBLEX With Closing Ceremony

The students of Macarascas Elementary School sing the national anthem of the Republic of the Philippines at the closing ceremony of an engineering civic assistance project Oct. 16 as part of the bilateral Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX) 2013. Marines and Sailors of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, together with their Armed Forces of the Philippines counterparts constructed a pavilion here at the Macarascas Elementary School. PHIBLEX is a bilateral training exercise hosted annually in the Republic of the Philippines to enhance interoperability and readiness of Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. Forces. The civil-military component of this exercise promotes engineer and medical operational readiness while providing services to local areas. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Pfc. Anne K. Henry/ Released)
