The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is a civilian agency of the U.S. Department of Defense. DoDEA presently operates approximately 200 elementary, middle, and high schools in 20 districts that are located in 13 foreign countries, seven states, Guam, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. The primary duties of the Procurement Division are focused on providing direct support regarding contracting policies, procedures, guidance/management to over 250 customers and contract specialists/Contracting Officers. We provide excellent advancement opportunities, empowerment, and leadership within a family friendly environment.
A related mission is to provide outreach and liaison support to businesses (large and small) and other members of the private sector concerning acquisition-related issues. In addition, the office is responsible for monitoring DoDEA's implementation and execution of the socioeconomic procurement programs.
Pursuant to an August 1, 2012 memorandum from Marilee Fitzgerald, DoDEA hereby announces that Jay Burcham has been appointed the Department of Defense Education Activity's ("DoDEA") Ombudsman for Procurement Integrity. As DoDEA's Ombudsman for Procurement Integrity, Mr. Burcham is to "provide a neutral, informal, confidential and independent alternative for employees, managers and customers to seek assistance in resolving procurement integrity issues."
