Iowa Children's Water Festival
The Annual Iowa Children's Water Festival is a free, one-day event, heightening the awareness of the importance of our most valuable resource - WATER. Approximately 2000 fifth graders from across Iowa participate each year. Various aspects of water-related topics are taught through presentations, experiments, exhibits, games and entertainment.
The Iowa Water Science Center proudly supports the ICWF by serving on the Steering Committee and coordinating the Program and Educational Content Committees and with a representative on the Advisory Board. A number of district employees also participate the day of the festival leading the Water Jeopardy classroom presentation and in the Exhibit Hall with a demonstration of the Desdemona's Splash Water Quality and the Environment CD-ROM game.

RAGBRAI 2012 - Learn About the Land
Once again, the USGS, Iowa Water Science Center, the IDNR Geological & Water Survey and the Iowa Limestone Producers have teamed up to provide the Learn About The Land daily trip logs describing interesting landscape, geologic, and other natural and historical features and resources along the RAGBRAI trail. Look for USGS volunteers as they distribute these brochures in the RAGBRAI campgrounds.
