State Snapshots of NAEP Science 2011 Now Available in ERIC

July 02, 2012

 Back to ERIC News

Concurrent with the May release of the 2011 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) science assessment results for 8th grade students, the National Center for Education Statistics prepared one-page snapshot reports for each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Department of Defense schools. These reports have been added to ERIC.

The state reports present key findings in a condensed format, including overall scale score, NAEP achievement levels, and student group results by gender, race/ethnicity, and eligibility for free/reduced-price lunch. A map comparing the average score in 2011 to that of other states/jurisdictions is also provided.

To locate a state report, use the search button below to return all results, then enter the state name and select Search. Records for that state will be retrieved. The ERIC citation for each report includes a PDF icon that links to the full text.

NAEP is administered and analyzed by the National Center for Education Statistics at the Institute of Education Sciences. Additional information about the science assessment is available from http://nationsreportcard.gov/science_2011/.
