Senior Education Department Official to Address Latino Education and Advocacy Days (LEAD) Summit in San Bernardino, Calif.

U.S. Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education Eduardo Ochoa will participate in two forums at the 2012 Latino Education and Advocacy Days (LEAD) Summit taking place in San Bernardino, Calif. The summit, sponsored by California State University, San Bernardino, is bringing together educators, students, parents, civic leaders, policymakers, and community members committed to improving the education of Hispanics at all levels of education.

At 9:15 a.m. PT on Wednesday, March 28, Ochoa will give remarks outlining the Administration’s initiatives to advance education attainment and success for Latino students. Following his remarks, he will hold a question and answer session with students attending the session

At 9:30 a.m. PT on Thursday, March 29, Ochoa will deliver the keynote address at the Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) roundtable, a session for top-level administrators from 63 institutions in southern California that serve a high percentage of Hispanic students. Ochoa’s remarks will focus on the Department’s efforts and commitment to expand and enhance the academic quality of Hispanic-Serving Institutions.
