2011 - AAB Webisode 2
2011 US Army All-American Bowl.
Buchanan: When I heard I was first selected, I was amazed.
Principal: Thank all of you for joining us for this - one of the biggest announcements in the history of Southaven High School.
Buchanan: I knew that there was - they only took 125 members for the band, and even then, only eight trombones. So to be one of the eight selected from the entire nation was astounding.
Moss: The first person I talked to after I was selected was my mom. She called and told me at work that I was selected. And the conversation was great, cause I was so excited. We both were so excited that I had been selected. And I was just thankful that my hard work paid off.
Buchanan: I see similarities between what we're taught in marching band and what some of the soldiers are taught, in that, we're taught discipline and determination to achieve our best.
Moss: The most exciting part about playing in the US Army All American Band for me will be - just to march with the same caliber of people. I know it's going to be a great experience and I can't wait to get to San Antonio.
Buchanan: Everyone there will be just as passionate and able to play as I am here. So, I'm really looking forward to the level of execution and excellence we'll be able to achieve.
Buchanan: Hi my name is Will Buchanan, I play trombone.
Moss: And my name is Thaddeus Moss and I play the tenor drums. Follow our US Army All American Bowl Week experience…
Buchanan: …on GoArmy.com/AAB January 4th through the 8th.
