Prints and Photographs Division, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., 20540-4730
The copying of images in this collection may be subject to certain
conditions set by
copyright restrictions on work done for hire.
Access: Permitted; subject to P&P policy on serving
originals.
Reproduction (photocopying, hand-held camera copying,
photoduplication and other forms of copying allowed by "fair
use"): Permitted;
subject to P&P policy on copying.
Publication and other forms of distribution: May be
restricted. The photographs Theodor Horydczak made for his own use or
for the government are in the public domain. Other photographs, however,
may have been produced as "work for hire" and copyright may be held by
the original client. It is the responsibility of the researcher to investigate
issues of copyright.
- To determine the name of client:
- For negatives, check the catalog records. Every effort
was made to include in the catalog record client names that
could be deciphered from the photographer's logbooks.
- For prints in LOTS, check the catalog record for the corresponding
negative to determine a client's name. If no catalog record
is found, consult the logbooks on microfilm LOT 11504, which
is arranged by negative number.
- If the client name is found, initiate a copyright search.
- If no client name is found, no further information is available.
