EAP is a support system to all employees with personal, family or job-related problems, providing an umbrella of various services to enhance the well-being of Coast Guard employees and families.

training? Your EAPCs are available to provide instructor-led
training to complement or replace the computer-based training versions
of the mandated training on:
Suicide Prevention
Sexual Assault Prevention and Response
Workplace Violence Prevention and Response, and
Critical Incident Stress Management.(CISM)
In
addition, your EAPCs can arrange or provide more in-depth topic-specific
training for:

3 day training that provides qualifications to operate as a CISM
peer after traumatic incidents |

1 day training offers units leadership training on enhancing
unit resilience |
Building Resilient Families: Successfully navigating the stress of everyday CG life |
A 2.5 - 3 hour awareness and skill-building course for active duty members and their families that focuses on identifying, minimizing and responding to stressful situations. |
Victim Advocate |
2 day training that provides qualifications to operate as a
Sexual Assault Victim Advocate for shipmates who have reported a
sexual assault |
SafeTALK Suicide Awareness |
3 hour training that teaches all hands the skills to
identify people who may be thinking of suicide and keep them
safe |
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST ) |
2 day training that teaches skills to provide suicide
interventions. |
