HSWL Seattle

If you are slightly injured or ill consult a self care guide such as the WebMD. If your condition is urgent or acute, call the appointment desk at (206) 217-6432 during normal working hours. For routine care, you must be seen at the HSWL Seattle Clinic and you may call the appointment desk for an appointment. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment to allow time for check-in. If you cannot keep an appointment please call at least 24 hours prior to the appointment to allow us to care for another shipmate.

All active duty personnel attached to units located on Pier36 and CCGD13 must be enrolled in TRICARE Prime with HSWL Seattle Clinic as your Primary Care Manager. To enroll in TRICARE Prime you must report to the TRICARE Service Center located within the HSWL Seattle Clinic and complete an enrollment form.

Emergency Care:

If you have an emergency go to the nearest emergency room and/or call 911 to obtain Emergency Services. If you are located on Pier 36, during normal business hours, dial 333. As soon as possible, contact your unit or have someone contact your unit on your behalf to advise your Commanding Officer of your status. HSWL Seattle Clinic does not have a 24 hour medical or dental duty section.

A medical emergency is defined as care necessary when the patient's conditions is such that failure to provide treatment or hospitalization would result in undue suffering or endanger life or limb.

Urgent or Acute Care:

We provide same day appointments for those needing urgent or acute care. We do not hold sick call. Patients may walk in and be seen on a first-come, first seen basis as providers become available around scheduled appointments. There are a number of Military Treatment Facilities and clinics in various locations in our area. It may be more convenient for you to be seen at one of them. You may call the TRICARE Appointment Line at (800) 404-4506 to schedule an appointment at the facility nearest to you. Please keep your supervisor informed of all of the health care you are receiving.

Urgent care is defined as care to alleviate other than routine medical conditions which are not life threatening and of an acute nature of less than one week in duration.

Routine Care:

All personnel stationed on Pier 36 and at CCGD13 Office must have routine care orchestrated by HSWL Seattle Clinic. Please call (206) 217-6432 for an appointment.

Routine care is neither emergent nor urgent, including medical and dental examinations, diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures provided to maintain fitness for duty.

Priority of Care:

Members assigned to operational units have priority over all personnel. Nevertheless, we will strive to minimize the effect this may have on other commands. Please understand your appointment may be rescheduled to maintain operational readiness of afloat commands.

PRIORITY ONE: Active duty personnel attached to floating units assigned to Pier 36
PRIORITY TWO: All other Active Duty personnel.
PRIORITY THREE: Dependents of active duty members and dependents of members who died while serving on active duty on a space available basis.
PRIORITY FOUR: Retired members, dependents of retired members, and dependents of members who died while in a retired status.

After Hours Care:

Medical: If you have emergencies call 911 or go directly to the closest emergency room. If you require Urgent/Acute care after hours go to the nearest
Military Treatment Facility or call the TRICARE Health Care finder 1-888-TriWest for assistance. If you need to speak to a Medical Officer after hours, call the HSWL Seattle Command Duty Officer at (206) 510-7858 and ask to speak with the Medical Officer.

Dental: If you have emergencies call 911 or go directly to the closest emergency room. If you require Urgent/Acute care after hours go to the nearest Military Treatment Facility or call the HSWL Seattle Command Duty Officer at (206) 510-7858 and ask to speak with a Dental Officer. An Urgent/Acute dental emergency is defined as trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, swelling or pain not controlled by a narcotic pain medication.
