Office of Acquisition and Logistics — About Us
The Business Resource Services (BRS) is a very diverse, dedicated and eclectic group of highly motivated professionals. Besides providing support to the NAC’s Office of the Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary for National Healthcare Acquisitions, BRS has three Divisions — Operations and Analysis Division; Contingency Contracting Division; and Strategic National Stockpile Division. BRS provides administrative, operational and program support to all the other NAC Services and provides customer-specific acquisition support to various VA and OGA clients. From data analysis, policy development and business process reviews to acquisition and logistic support, BRS delivers quality solutions and service to its customers.
This division with NAC’s Business Resource Service (BRS) has four main functions and works closely with VA’s Veterans Health Administration (VHA).

The Contingency Contracting Division is responsible for providing facility maintenance and contingency contracting support to the Department and to specific customer organizations. The Division provides acquisition and purchasing support services in response to natural and/or man-made disasters. This includes pre, during and post disaster phases and critical material that is activated for immediate use in responding to national emergencies including biological and/or terrorist acts against the United States and it territories. Procurement includes complex and critical requirements which are highly visible and are monitored at the highest level of management within the Agency, and by the customer, our taxpayers and Congress.
From facility management to contingency contracting services and support, this division provides assistance 365 days a year. Acquisitions include, but are not limited to, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, medical equipment, distribution services, emergency vehicles, fuel, transportation, minor construction, facility maintenance, non-medical supplies and equipment, non-personal services, security, product rotation, and inventory support for customer such as VA’s Veterans Health Administration Emergency Management Strategic Healthcare Group, Crisis Response Team; Health and Human Services; Department of Defense; and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. We work hand in hand with various local and state hospitals and medical organizations to facilitate logistics in the event of a national emergency.
