The HEASARC Staff

Alan Smale (GSFC) is the HEASARC Director, responsible for the overall activity.

Roger Brissenden (SAO) is the HEASARC Associate Director, with primary responsibility for the interface between the GSFC-based activities of the HEASARC and the Chandra X-ray Center.

Lorella Angelini (GSFC) is the HEASARC Project Scientist, and is responsible for the XANADU software (XIMAGE and XRONOS packages), and is the Swift, Suzaku, GEMS, and Astro-H archive scientist.

Dave Chuss (GSFC) is the LAMBDA Science Lead and oversees all CMB science support, as well as serving as the archive scientist for the WMAP mission.

Keith Arnaud (GSFC & University of Maryland) is responsible for XANADU software (XSPEC) package and issues in X-ray spectroscopy, the XSELECT analysis environment, and some other parts of HEASoft.

Mike Corcoran (GSFC & USRA) is the Fermi archive scientist, is responsible for the HEASARC Calibration Database (CALDB), publishes the High Energy Astrophysics Picture of the Week, and maintains the Astro-Update web page.

Steve Drake (GSFC & USRA) leads the user help desk, the database table ingest into Browse, is the archive scientist for the RXTE and XMM-Newton missions, and maintains inter alia the HEASARC's Meetings and Upcoming Dates and Deadlines web pages.

Dale Graeslle (SAO) is Chandra CALDB scientist and is responsible for developing standard tools for the CALDB for file construction, index building, while ensuring backward compatibility.

Jim Lochner(GSFC & USRA), currently on assignment at NASA Headquarters, leads the HEASARC Education and Public Outreach program.

Frank Marshall (GSFC) is the manager of mission operations for the HEASARC, and is also the NuSTAR archive scientist.

Barb Mattson (GSFC & USRA) is the acting lead of the HEASARC's Education and Public Outreach program.

Tom McGlynn (GSFC) is the HEASARC Archive Scientist, and is responsible for the archive interfaces, leading the interdisciplinary/inter-archive access activities, including coordination with the Virtual Observatory (VO).

Bill Pence (GSFC) leads the FITS activities including CFITSIO package, HEAsoft, and the fv program, and is the PI on the Hera project.

Arnold Rots (SAO) is the Chandra Archive Scientist. He ensures coordination and integration of Chandra data with the HEASARC interfaces, and has developed bibliographic database software for multi-mission use.

Steve Sturner (GSFC & UMBC) is the archive scientist for the INTEGRAL mission, in which role he oversees the ingest of INTEGRAL data into the archive and maintains the INTEGRAL web site.

The other members of the HEASARC staff based at GSFC include system analysts, software and website developers, and programmers. These staff, many of whom have advanced degrees in astronomy and physics, support data ingest, database population, analysis software, and Web programming, as well as supporting users of the HEASARC's services.

Mike Arida (ADNET) coordinates the HEASARC Guest Observer Facility, and is responsible for the updating and maintenance of the WebPIMMS tool. He also has system administration duties.

Meredith Gibb (Syneren Technologies) is responsible for the overall HEASARC Web design, some Web development, and much of the HEASARC's print and Web graphics.

Craig Gordon is responsible for the development and support of the XANADU software XSPEC.

Michael Greason (ADNET) manages the web pages and data archive for the CMB portion (LAMBDA, the Legacy Archive for Microwave Background Data Analysis) of the HEASARC web site. He also has system administration responsibilities for this site.

Bill Joye (SAO) is responsible for the development and support of the SAOImage DS9 astronomical data visualization software.

Laura MacDonald (ADNET) is responsible for the design and development of the Browse and Skyview web sites.

Urmila Prasad (ADNET) provides CMB web site and database administration support.

Michael Preciado (INNOVIM) develops Virtual Observatory (VO) applications and publishes HEASARC resources within the VO. He is funded through the NVO.

Gail Rohrbach (Vantage Systems) provides support for the HEASARC Calibration Database (CALDB), and for the RXTE data archive and GOF web site.

Edward J. Sabol (ADNET) is the HEASARC's database administrator and programs various Web-based applications (such as ARK, database applications, and client/server software solutions (notably RPS) that support the HEASARC's on-line services.

Doug van Orsow (INNOVIM) is working on Peer Proposal Review support, bibliographic and data set cross-indexing, and HEASARC web site maintenance.
