Outlines the Panel’s conclusions that educating physicians, dietitians, nurses, and the public about celiac disease; standardizing serologic testing and criteria for the diagnosis; adopting a definition of a gluten-free diet; developing testing procedures for gluten in foods; and forming a federation on celiac disease for health care providers, families, the public, and organizations were all needed to increase physician and public awareness of celiac disease.
