El NinoThe term El Niño refers to a warm Pacific-ocean current that typically appears around Christmas-time and lasts for several months. The warm current influences storm patterns around the globe, often resulting in severe droughts, cyclones, landslides and floods. CMG research aims to understand the complex processes which induce El Niño events and their resulting devastation.
