A key team in the Defense Logistics Agency’s Audit Readiness efforts was recognized for its work as one of five winners of the agency’s inaugural Strategic Goals Awards Oct. 9 during a Director’s Call with DLA Director Navy Vice Adm. Mark Harnitchek at the McNamara Headquarters Complex.

The Maintenance Movers team at Robins Air Force Base, Ga. - which includes members from Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, DLA Distribution and the Air Force - has created a turnaround when it comes to handling property, a 97 percent difference in one instance.
DLA-NIB partnership to create training, job opportunities for blind workers

A new partnership between the Defense Logistics Agency and the National Industries for the Blind will provide job opportunities for people who are blind or vision impaired. The partnership was cemented with an Oct. 16 memo signing by leaders of the two organizations.

Twenty-two years after the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the nation is moving in the right direction. More people with disabilities than ever are working and working hard, paying taxes as proud and productive citizens, a guest speaker said Oct. 16.

Foyer flags create grand entrance at McNamara Headquarters Complex

Visitors and employees entering the front lobby of the McNamara Headquarters Complex may have noticed some changes. Two sets of military flags, part of a project requested by Defense Logistics Agency Director Navy Vice Adm. Mark Harnitchek, were displayed to improve the aesthetics of the entrance.

Personnel Security Office fulfills mission despite construction

For 11 days in September, the Defense Logistics Agency Intelligence Personnel Security Office in the McNamara Headquarters Complex was closed due to construction, but through telework, office employees were able to continue supporting customers with no interruption in service.
