CBO Systems Management

Systems Management LogoSystems Management is organizationally aligned under the Veterans Health Administration, Chief Business Office (CBO), Member Services business line.  CBO Systems Management (CSM) provides consultative services to CBO Member Services and CBO sponsored initiatives that facilitate Veterans’ access to their benefits and services. CSM services include strategic planning, full lifecycle management for business processes and systems definition, business analysis, change management, systems integration, training, and facilitation.
Systems Management’s services encompass the following functions:

  • Defining and implementing business initiatives and programs
  • Project Management and Business Analysis
  • Acquisition Development and Management
  • Integration of business practices and information systems
  • Coordination of system and business processes deployments
  • Analysis and evaluation of policy, procedures, and legislative mandates

Mission

Provide the business community with consultative services to implement realizable improvements to facilitate the Veteran’s access to their health benefits and services.

Initiatives

Member Benefits Handbook

  • Strategic Initiative to provide each enrolled Veteran with a personalized Handbook which describes their VA health care benefits.

VA Point of Service (VPS) Kiosk

  • Strategic Initiative to implement point of service devices to enable self-service VA business transactions for Veterans and other users. 

Veteran Identification Card (VIC)

  • Enhancements to the Veterans Identification Card (VIC). The VIC will become a card for all Veterans (VBA, VHA, and NCA).

Veterans Transportation Services (VTS)

  • Strategic Initiative to provide transportation for rural and disabled Veterans to facilitate access their health care appointments

1010-EZ and VOA

  • Implementation of an online application for health benefits that will enable Veterans to fully complete, submit applications.  Veterans will also be able to maintain and update personal information.

Enrollment Program

  • Management, support of, and enhancements to the Registration, Enrollment, and Eligibility systems and business practices that determine medical benefits.

Compensation and Pension

  • This program has two main components within CSM.
  • Gathering of compensation and pension data from all VBA regional offices
  • The Secretary has directed the Disability Benefit Questionnaire Working Group (DBQ-WG), through the Under Secretaries for Benefits and Health to create and implement 80+ Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) to provide a streamlined method for Veterans to submit medical evidence relevant to the rating of disability in accordance with the Veterans Affair Schedule for Rating Disabilities (VASRD).

Vet Traveler

  • Strategic initiative to provide a solution whereby the Veteran will establish their travel profile with banking information, request authorization for travel, receive approval for reimbursement, and upon completion of appointment, the system will automatically process payment and deposit funds into Veteran’s account.

Veterans Relationship Management (VRM) Program

  • Strategic initiative to enable convenient, seamless interactions with Veterans. VRM is the veteran-facing interface with all of the VA’s services including all major initiatives. Components under VRM include: Identity and Access Management (IAM), Self Service (SS), Member Services and Technical Integration (MSTI), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Unified Desktop (UD), Knowledge Management (KM), and Voice and Access Modernization (VAM).

Income Verification Matching (IVM) Enhancements:

  • A series of enhancements to the IVM application, which include improvements to countable Federal Tax Information (FTI); workflow and process changes, tighter integration with Enrollment System and changes to enable verification of GMT and P8 Veterans.

Other Priority initiatives and Legislative Mandates

  • Congressional, Presidential, Legislative, or other mandates required such as the Caregivers.
