Expected Contribution Range Calculator

Expected Contribution Range Calculator

How to Use the Calculator

To determine your Expected Contribution Range for this rating period:

  1. Enter your basic salary from block 20A of your most current Notification of Personnel Action (Standard Form 50). Remember that your basic salary does not include locality pay. Exception: For employees receiving a retained rate, your base salary was combined with your locality pay when you were put on a retained rate so enter your retained rate from block 20C of your most current Standard Form 50.
  2. Select your career path. Click on the Career Path box. Click on the arrow that appears on the lower right corner and select NH, NJ, or NK from the dropdown list.
  3. Select your broadband level. Click on the Broadband box. Click on the arrow that appears on the lower right corner and select 1, 2, 3 or 4 from the dropdown list.

The Retained Pay box is automatically populated with the correct status based on your previous input. Pay Used in the Calculation will indicate top of the band pay for employees on a retained rate.

The Upper and Lower Rail boxes show your expected overall contribution range. The SPL or standard pay line box represents your expected overall contribution score.

2012 Expected Contribution Range Calculator
(updated 23 Feb 2012)

The Expected Contribution Range Calculator was redesigned to provide the score range that will keep an employee in the appropriately compensated (C) region. The horizontal distance from the Standard Pay Line (SPL) to either the Upper or Lower Rail for any given salary is approximately +/- four Overall Contribution Score (OCS) points. The calculator will give you the lowest score in the Upper Rail block, and the lowest score in the Lower Rail block, to keep you in the C region. Depending on where your salary falls relative to the SPL, your result may not be an exact range of 8 points, as the horizontal distance between the SPL and the rails is described as "approximately" +/- four OCS points.
