COMMUNITY CENTER NEWS
The Community Center and LTS Office will be CLOSED on Saturday, October 6 in order to support Oktoberfest. As a reminder, the Community Center is closed on Sundays and will be closed on Monday due to Columbus Day, a Federal Holiday. Normal operating hours will resume Tuesday, October 9.

Pro Tools 101 Training
Cut your own demo! Produce your own podcast! Record and Edit your Music at Home! Pro Tools by Avid has become the world standard in recording and editing audio on the computer. Guitars at the Community Center
The Guitar Room has increased its inventory by 7 new guitars to compliment the existing instruments. The new equipment includes 4 electric-beginner guitars, two acoustics-beginner guitars and one acoustic-intermediate instrument. Guitar lessons are offered year round for beginners through expert level. Cost is $85 per month and appointments can be made for: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning at 4 pm. Fort Belvoir Community Center offers beginner and intermediate level piano lessons for both adults and children. Come check out our new Eagle Game Room! It features two Xbox 360’s, two PS3’s, and one Wii. Check out games for free with your ID Card during open hours at the Community Center front counter. Eligible participants include all Active Duty Soldiers, Dependents, DoD Civilians and affiliated ID cardholders. 16 and below must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Skatepark
The MWR Skate Park, located on South Post, is currently closed until further notice due to vandalism.
This is not the first time the park has been damaged by vandals. If skaters are damaging the park, this is not smart because the only logical outcome of continued damage, requiring frequent expensive repairs, is that the park closes, thereby eliminating a valued service to the community and to the skaters themselves.
Do you really want this to happen?

MWR Card
MWR cards are issued at the Community Center to eligible patrons who do not have a CAC
(DoD's Common Access Card). Contractors who work on post and then family members
of DOD Civilians tend to fall into this category. All other patrons can use
their CAC or family member ids at DFMWR facilities. As contractors are often
times not provided a CAC and Family Members of DOD Civilians do not have the
ability to get a CAC either, DFMWR has made these MWR cards available.

International Amateur Billiard Leagues
We Want You! The Association for P.O.O.L. now offers the US armed forces the ability to compete in international amateur billiard leagues. Come out and show your colors for TAP’s new military division! All active duty, retirees and DoD civilians can join the TAP League. The leagues will be played on the pool tables at the Community Center. The minimum number of teams will be six to start & the handicapping of players is done through League Play.
