Welcome to Naval Base Guam

WELCOME TO GUAM! The island of Guam is located approximately 3,300 miles West of Hawaii, and 1,500 miles east of the Philippines and south of Japan. Guam is a territory of the United States and its residents are US citizens. The island is about 36 miles long, 6-12 miles wide and in many ways Guam is an all American community. But its multi-cultural ethnic mix offers a microcosm of the world. Guam's own rich Chamorro culture and heritage draws visitors from Japan, other Asian countries and Europe.

Naval Base Guam enforces 100% ID check

Santa Rita, Guam (Aug. 27, 2012) – In alignment with Department of Defense Anti-Terrorism Force Protection regulations, as of September 3rd Naval Base Guam (NBG) will join Navy installations world wide enforcing a 100% ID check to increase the accountability of who enters Navy installations and housing areas and to ensure the safety of the installations and the people living and working there.

All persons 16 years and older in a vehicle entering a Navy installation must show an authorized Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC), a military dependent identification card, or an authorized pass issued by the NBG Visitor Control Center (VCC).

United States citizens lacking such identification can visit the VCC with their sponsor who can request a pass. On a week-end or holiday the sponsor can request a pass for their visitor at the NBG main gate but may encounter a considerable delay while the visitor background check is conducted. Sponsors are encouraged to request visitor passes in advance at the VCC. Clearance for foreign national visitors must be requested at the VCC and at least a week in advance of the anticipated visit.

Individuals considered authorized to sponsor visitors aboard the installation are:

* Active duty military and retired military personnel and their qualified dependents 16 years and older.
* National Guard, reservists and their qualified dependents 16 years and older.
* DOD civilian and DOD retired civilian personnel.
* Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and their qualified dependents 16 years and older.
* Delayed Entry Program Identification Card.

People holding RapidGate credentials are not authorized to sponsor persons onto any Navy installation.

The VCC is located outside the main Naval Base front gate and open Monday through
Wednesday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Passes issued at the VCC are valid week-days and week-ends for the main NBG base, NBG housing areas, Naval Hospital (NAVHOS) and NBG Telecommunications Site (NTCS).

Passes to access NTCS can be requested at the NTCS Pass & ID twenty-four hours a day seven days a week and are valid for that base only.

Passes to access NAVHOS can be requested at the NAVHOS Pass & ID Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and weekends 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and are valid for that base only.

The maximum number of persons per visit that can be sponsored by one authorized person is equal to the maximum single vehicle occupancy allowed to accommodate all personnel wearing seatbelts. All visitors must be personally known to and escorted by their sponsor
throughout their visit on base. Sponsors are responsible for the conduct of their guests, including enforcing the on base no-photography regulation.
