Malmstrom Air Force Base Units
The 341st Missile Wing, headquartered at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont., is one of three U.S. Air Force Bases that maintains and operates the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile. The 341st Missile Wing reports directly to 20th Air Force, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., and is part of Air Force Global Strike Command, headquartered at Barksdale Air Force Base, La.
The mission of the 341st Missile Wing is to defend America with safe, secure, effective nuclear forces and combat-ready Airmen.

The 341st Operations Group, Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana provides the forces to launch, monitor and secure the wing's Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) and missile alert facilities (MAF). These ICBMs and MAFs are dispersed over the largest missile complex in the Western Hemisphere. The group manages a variety of equipment, facilities, and vehicles worth more than $5 billion.

The 819th RED HORSE Squadron provides the Air Force with a highly mobile civil engineering response force to support contingency and special operations worldwide. On August 8, 1997, the 819th RED HORSE Squadron was activated at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont., reviving a piece of civil engineering history. |
