Being selected to participate in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl is an honor reserved for only the Nation’s most exceptional high school football players, as only the strongest wear the Army colors. As a U.S. Army All-American, these young men join the ranks of gridiron greats including Adrian Peterson, Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, Andrew Luck, Marcus Lattimore, Robert Woods and many other college and NFL stars. These young Americans have earned their selection by displaying some of the very same characteristics found in every Army Strong Soldier, on and off the field.

Sickels was a star on both defense and special teams as a junior, completing the 2011 season with 76 tackles, 11 sacks and three blocked punts. Sickels is dominant when defending the run, using his long reach to keep offensive linemen a bay. A relentless pass rusher, Sickels plays until the whistle is blown, garnering a number of sacks and tackles strictly off second effort. Physically, Sickels has very broad shoulders that will allow him to add the strength necessary to compete at the next level.
