Vanderdoes is a highly sought after prospect due in large part to his versatility, he possesses the length to play at defensive end and the stoutness at the point of attack to play defensive tackle. He runs down ball carriers from behind and works his way through traffic all while maintaining his momentum. When Vanderdoes beats his opposing linemen, he consistently has the foot speed to track down the quarterback. He racked up 59 tackles and eight sacks as a junior for Placer.
