| Sgt. Michael Tavaska glides his parachute down into a clearing within the woods near Stephenville, Newfoundland. The jump from a CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter was in preparation for the "invasion" during Unified Spirit '98, a maritime combined operational training exercise. The exercise includes forces from Canada, Denmark, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, and other NATO nations. It provides effective, realistic training to improve the skills needed during a NATO led peacekeeping support operation.
