Being selected to participate in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl is an honor reserved for only the Nation’s most exceptional high school football players, as only the strongest wear the Army colors. As a U.S. Army All-American, these young men join the ranks of gridiron greats including Adrian Peterson, Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, Andrew Luck, Marcus Lattimore, Robert Woods and many other college and NFL stars. These young Americans have earned their selection by displaying some of the very same characteristics found in every Army Strong Soldier, on and off the field.

Matthews is one of the strongest tacklers in the 2013 recruiting class. He plays with a great deal of intensity, and is completely fearless when making tackles in space. Matthews is great against the run, but still very good against the pass. Tray has the body type that would likely allow him to play cornerback or safety depending on the needs of his college program. Matthews enjoyed a standout junior season, making 84 tackles and four interceptions in 2011.
