Since 2001, the U.S. Army All-American Bowl has showcased the nation's premier high school football talent. The level of play in these games has demanded the absolute highest levels of mental, emotional and physical strengths for those participating. The expansive and continually growing list of prominent alumni featured in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl's history stands as proof of this strength and the extraordinary level of competition. Some of the most notable All-American alumni include: Adrian Peterson, Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, 2012 #1 NFL Draft Pick Andrew Luck, Marcus Lattimore and Robert Woods among many more.
As of the start of NFL training camps, there are more than 200 U.S. Army All-American Bowl alumni on NFL rosters. During the 2012 NFL Draft, 22 U.S. Army All-Americans were selected, including six first round selections. An incredible total of 51 U.S. Army All-Americans have been selected in the past two NFL Drafts. More and more U.S. Army All-Americans enter the NFL each season as the Army All-American Bowl continues to produce some of the game’s brightest stars on its biggest stage.

Edison High School | CA
- McDonald played under his father Tim (a 12-year NFL veteran) at Fresno’s Edison High School, where he was named to the All-State Underclass team as a junior. As a senior, T.J. earned All-State honors and was named Metro Athletic Conference Defensive MVP. Playing defensive end, linebacker and safety, McDonald tallied 87 tackles and three interceptions to punctuate an outstanding prep career.
College: University of Southern California
- McDonald has again followed in his father’s footsteps by developing into a standout defensive back for Southern Cal. After cutting his teeth on special teams as a true freshman, McDonald won the starting free safety spot as a sophomore and excelled, leading the team in tackles and garnering a selection to the All-Pac-12 team. In 2011, McDonald added All- American to his collegiate resume after tallying 67 tackles and leading the Trojans with three interceptions. T.J. and his father are the only father-son captains and All-Americans in the storied history of Southern Cal football. T.J. returns in 2012 looking to lead the Trojans to a National Championship as they come off probation.
