Submit A Concept

Ideas submitted below will feed directly to a senior-level group for review and will be visible to IIP personnel only. Ideas proposing partnerships with the Veterans Administration and other federal, state or private sector entities are encouraged, and ideas requiring new legal authority also will be accepted. The range of topics about which ideas may be submitted is broad, including disease management, demand management, pharmacy, national contracts for services, equipment or personnel, reduction of overhead costs within the MHS, efficiencies through use of information management and technology, rightsizing, and reductions in private sector health care costs. In short, any idea that will generate significant efficiencies within the MHS is welcome!

After an idea is submitted, it will be considered either alone or in combination with related ideas. Promising ideas will be developed into short proposals, consisting of analyses of MHS data and private-sector financial information to support estimates of a return on investment and the associated risks. A Board of Directors - consisting of the senior leaders in the MHS, Office of Management and Budget, and DoD comptroller [See Leadership page] - will select promising proposals for development into IIP initiatives. Each initiative will consist of a detailed business case analysis and implementation plan. Ultimately, IIP initiatives that are "green-lighted" by the Board of Directors will be funded for implementation.
