As a part of the Army Medical Department (AMEDD), the National Guard Medical Team offers a great place to start your healthcare career or an inspiring place to lead others with your experience and expertise.
Basic Branch officers serve in one of three branches: Combat Arms (including Armor, Aviation and Infantry), Combat Support (such as Military Police and Military Intelligence) and Combat Service Support (Finance, Ordnance, Quartermaster and others). These three branches represent a total of 16 basic fields.
Chaplains are leaders in the National Guard, responsible for caring for the spiritual well-being of Soldiers and their Families. They provide advice in matters pertaining to religion, morals and morale.
JAG Corps officers are practicing attorneys and judges. They investigate, prosecute and defend those charged with crimes in the military (both in the U.S. and abroad), provide legal advice for Soldiers and work with international contracts.
Special Forces (SF), also known as the legendary Green Berets, are an elite, multi-purpose force. From humanitarian assistance and training of indigenous forces to direct action, special reconnaissance and unconventional warfare missions, Special Forces Soldiers live up to the Special Forces motto: "De Oppresso Liber"—"To Free the Oppressed."
Warrant Officers (WO) are subject matter experts, leaders and instructors in their specific fields. Technical WOs are technical and tactical experts, while WO Aviators apply their skills and training as Guard pilots.
