DENIX Registration and User Guide
This Registration and User Guide applies to the new DENIX website and describes the process for requesting a new DENIX user account, logging into the new DENIX web site, basic navigation, and how to get help.


Frequently Asked Questions


Q:  I have been issued a new CAC and now I can’t login to DENIX.
How do I associate the new CAC cert with my account?
A: 
If you have been issued a new CAC since you originally registered for the account the new CAC cert will need to be associated before utilizing the CAC login feature. This can be done by manually logging in to the site with your username and password and then navigating to the DENIX Tools>My Profile>”Associate CAC” button. If necessary a new password can be requested from the login/registration page, after clicking “DoD Access.” Also, we recommend clearing your browser cache and deleting your temporary internet files (Start Menu>Control Panel>Network and Internet>Internet Options>General Tab) and then launching a fresh browser instance before attempting a new login. This should be sufficient to clear out any lingering system errors that might be associated with the initial login failure. Please feel free to contact the helpdesk at this address if the problem persists.


Q:  What should I do if I am unable to register with my CAC?
A: 
If you are a DoD civilian employee or active duty military personnel with a valid CAC and you are unable to register a DENIX account or if the system is unable to read your CAC cert, please attempt the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Close all Internet Explorer browser instances
  • Clear your browser cache and delete your temporary internet files (For Windows users: Start>Control Panel>Internet Options)
  • Launch a fresh Internet Explorer browser instance
  • Navigate to www.denix.osd.mil
  • Click “DoD Access” in the upper right hand corner
  • Click “Create Account” - [Please note that if you select “Use CAC to Login” prior to successfully registering an account you will receive an error message and will need to repeat this process from step 1.]
  • Fill in the required information and select “Yes” for current valid CAC – this should allow to choose your CAC cert from a dialogue box.

Q:  Do I need a DENIX account?
A: 
Most of DENIX is available to the public and most users do not need an account.  Portions of DENIX are restricted to active duty military, DoD employees and their sponsored support contractors and require an account.

Q:  How do I get an account?
A:
  If you are eligible for a DENIX account, you can request access either by clicking “DoD Access” in the upper right corner of the home page, or by selecting “Create Account” from the Tools drop down menu bar item.  Eligibility is restricted to active duty military, DoD employees and their sponsored support contractors.


Q:  How do I get a sponsor?
A:
  Your sponsor must already be a DENIX user and either active duty military or a DoD civilian with a CAC-enabled account and who has already signed the DENIX sponsorship agreement.  Instructions for sponsors are in the provided in the Authenticated User Guide available to logged in users on this page.

Q:  How do I sponsor other users?
A:
  You must already be a DENIX user and you must be either active duty military or a DoD civilian and you must have CAC-enabled your account. Before you can sponsor other users, you must also sign the sponsorship agreement and supply contract name/number and expiration date.  Instructions for sponsors are in the provided in the Authenticated User Guide available to logged in users on this page.


Q:  CAC login is disabled-why?
A:
  CAC login is only available on Internet Explorer.  If using Firefox or some other browser, you can enter your User ID and Password to login.

Q:  How do I get help using DENIX?
A:
  For general help using DENIX, problems with registration or to report bugs, select “Contact DENIX Help” under DENIX Tools in the navigation bar or click “Feedback” at the upper right corner of the page.
 


Q:  Who do I contact if I can’t find a specific document?
A:
  If you have a DENIX account, be sure you are logged in to the system before searching.  If you are unable to find the document using the advanced search, please contact the DENIX Helpdesk, provide as much detail as possible about the document you are interested in (title, author, publish date, etc…).

Q:  Who do I contact if I have a program-specific question?
A:
  For questions relating to a topic, you can contact the program’s functional POC by selecting the “Contact” link on located at the bottom the left menu on each program area sub site.
