VAi2 uses annual competitions to engage private industry and the VA workforce in generating innovations that improve the way Veterans are served:

VAi2 is committed to finding new solutions outside of government. The Industry Innovation Competitions were designed to get the best thinking from the private sector to solve the Department’s most pressing challenges. Solutions come from all types of organizations – businesses large and small, start-ups, non-profits, and academic/research institutions. |

Employee Innovation Competitions provide VA with a mechanism to tap the ingenuity and innovative spirit of the workforce while providing those innovators with funding and support to make their ideas a reality. Successful innovations will be transitioned into regular practice and deployed across the country. |

VAi2 also runs prize contests through the America Competes Act to drive innovation in the private sector. |

When an unanticipated challenge surfaces or a departmental priority emerges, VAi2 may conduct a “special project” to generate rapid innovation. |
