NAPLES, Italy – Are you into zombies? Dream about battling them, or being there as war is waged against the undead hordes?
If so, the makers of "World War Z," starring Brad Pitt, want you.
Filmmakers will be shooting scenes in the U.K. this summer for the movie adaptation of the 2006 novel by Max Brooks in which the fictional protagonist interviews survivors of a worldwide war against zombies, 10 years after those of us with a pulse prevailed.
“World War Z” is written as an oral history of the human experience during this zombie nightmare.
U.S.-based scenes are being shot in England, and filmmakers are recruiting Americans - military and civilian - as extras from July to October, according to Chuck Douglas of 2020 Casting agency in England.
“The director wants a lot of authenticity,” he said. “North Americans are the way forward on this one.”
Filmmakers need extras for fight scenes between the military and zombies, as well as civilians to portray American families.
“Some scenes require civilians, some require military with firearms,” Douglas said. “Obviously the families wouldn’t be in any scenes when they’re fighting zombies.”
Work would involve clusters of one to four days, he said. Pay rate will depend on location and scene assignments.
