Curtis J. Carson
Col. Curtis J. Carson was born in Kearney, Neb. He attended Saint Johns’ University on a four-year ROTC scholarship graduating as a Distinguished Military Graduate in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry in May 1987.
He has held numerous command and staff positions in his career. He served as a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer and Specialty Platoon Leader, 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard); Brigade Assistant Operations Officer and Company Commander, A Company, 5-14 Infantry, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Light); Company Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 25th Infantry Division (Light); Infantry Branch Assignments Officer, US Army Personnel Command; Brigade Logistics Officer, 1st Brigade 327th Infantry Regiment, Battalion Operations Officer, 1-327 Infantry, Brigade Operations Officer, 1st Brigade, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); Plans Officer in CJ35 Combined Forces Command and United States Forces Korea; Battalion Commander 3-11th Infantry, Officer Candidate School. He served as the Deputy Commander, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). As the Deputy Commander Col. Carson deployed to Baghdad Iraq for OIF 07-09. Col. Carson holds a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management from Webster University. His military education includes completion of the Infantry Officers’ Basic and Advanced Courses, The Army Command and General Staff College, Ranger School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, and the Pathfinder School.
