Major General Emmett R. Titshaw, Jr.

The Adjutant General

Major General Emmett R. Titshaw, Jr, assumed duties as the Adjutant General of Florida on June 26, 2010. He previously served as Special Assistant to the Director, Air National Guard and also as the Air National Guard Advisor to the Chief of Staff, United States Air Force. In this position, General Titshaw advised the Chief of Staff and senior Air Force leadership on how best to organize, train, equip, and employ the Air National Guard.

Major General James D. Tyre

Assistant Adjutant General – Army

Major General James D. “Don” Tyre is the Assistant Adjutant General for the Florida Army National Guard. He enlisted in the Florida National Guard in 1969, serving 10 years as a non-commissioned officer. He attended the Florida Army National Guard Military Academy and was commissioned as an Engineer officer in 1980.

Assistant Adjutant General – Air and Deputy Commander

Brigadier General James O. Eifert is the Assistant Adjutant General-Air and Deputy Commander, Florida Air National Guard. General Eifert is responsible to the Commander for mission readiness, operations, and administrative coordination of the 2,000 personnel assigned to the 125th Fighter Wing and nine Geographically Separated Units.

Brigadier General Robert M. Branyon is Chief of Staff of the Florida Air National Guard, St. Augustine, Fla. He is responsible for mission readiness, operations, and coordination of 11 Florida Air National Guard Units at seven Geographically Separated sites.

Brigadier General Richard Gallant

Commander, Land Component Command

Brigadier General Richard Gallant is the Commander, Land Component Command for the Florida National Guard. He enlisted in the Massachusetts National Guard in 1981 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry in 1982. He transferred to the Florida Army National Guard in 1988.

Colonel Perry L. Hagaman

Chief of Staff – Army

Colonel Perry L. Hagaman assumed duties as the Chief of Staff on December 2010. He previously served as the State Army Aviation Officer, and the Commander, 83d Troop Command. In these positions, Colonel Hagaman’s responsibilities were to lead, train, maintain, and care for eight diverse subordinate battalions and two Civil Support Teams (CSTs).

Chief Warrant Officer Five David Smith

Chief of Staff – Army

CW5 David P. Smith assumed duties of Command Chief Warrant Officer for the Florida Army National Guard on April 1, 2010. As a member of the Command Group, Mr. Smith advises the Adjutant General on all aspects of managing the Warrant Officer program. He previously served as Commander, Detachment 8, Operational Support Airlift Command (C-12), Joint Forces Headquarters, Florida.

Command Sergeant Major Robert M. Hosford

State Command Sergeant Major

Command Sergeant Major Hosford was appointed the fifth State Command Sergeant Major (CSM) of the Florida Army National Guard on January 2, 2005. Prior to his assignment as Florida’s State CSM, he was serving as CSM with the 3rd Battalion, 265th Air Defense Artillery in Sarasota, Florida.

Chief Master Sergeant Robert Lee

State Command Chief Master Sergeant

Command Chief Master Sgt. Robert Lee was appointed the eighth Command Chief Master Sergeant of the Florida Air National Guard in January 2012. Chief Master Sergeant Robert D. Lee is from Melbourne, Fla. He entered the U.S. Air Force in May 1983 as an Automatic Tracking Radar Specialist and served eight and a half years on active duty.
